The American Montana Watch Company watch brand was founded by the famous watchmaker Jeffrey Nashan. He started his career like a restorer of vintage watches. But he wanted to move further as he could not leash his great creative potential anymore. In 1999 Jeffrey opened his own watch company and created the unique watch featuring its visual variety as well as underlining the creator's individual style. All Montana Watch Company watches are equipped with Swiss high-precise movements with a power-reserve of 30 to 40 hours. Cases and dials are engraved in Bulino style which is considered to be the most popular technique of the engraving art, being made with a hand cutter. The company produces wristwatches for men and women. The women's line consists of three collections: Sapphire, Model 1925 and Bridger Field Watch. The line for men includes the following collections: Officers Watch, Model 1930, Model 1925, Bridger Field Watch and Highline Aviator.
The company's production reflects the main stages of the horology. The Model 1925 collection is performed in style of wristwatches of the 20s of the last century. It is the turning point in the watchmaking: wristwatches “supplanted” pockets ones out of usage, watch companies started to pay more attention to design. The 1920s' watches had round cases and featured classical design which is even now independent upon time. In the 30s a square form of cases was fashionable and nowadays it remains “favourite”. The collection under the name Model 1930 depicted modern trends of the 30s of the 20th century.
The Model 1925 Ref 1925-1 watch has the automatic Swiss-made movement ETA calibre 2895 installed in the silver case. The front glass is sapphire, the strap – American bison leather. The crown is made of 14 carat gold. Price of the watch is 5,150 USD.
The Bridger Field Watch collection is devoted to the memory of the well-known trapper, scout and conqueror of the Wild West, Jim Bridger. Models of the collection are notable for their exceptional precision and durability and created for adventurers. The Bridger Field watch will not let you down even in extreme conditions.
“Military” watches, made during the First World War, had great success with “civil” people after the end of the war. As the saying goes, demand bears supply: many watch companies began producing watches of the “military” class, using some style elements of “war” models. The Officers Watch and Highline Aviator collections belong to such watches.
Banovich is the most famous line of the brand. Models of the line are the result of the brand's collaboration with the well-known African artist John Banovich. Dials of watches were exactly reconstructed by the company's talented engravers according to the artist's paintings which are famous for plausible depictions of the wild nature. Banovich considers that the animal world is “simplicity and truth, its inhabitants are full-fledged, they move in harmony and balance”. This line includes 15 wristwatches on whose dials the biggest representatives of the African animal world – a lion, a rhinoceros, a leopard, a black buffalo and an elephant are engraved.
While making timepieces the company combines proved by centuries traditions of the watchmaking art with innovative technologies. The brand also manufactures watches to order. |
