The establishment of the Mk II watch company is dated 2002, when its founder, Bill Yao, was still a student of the University of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania state. At the beginning, the company supplied the market with watch components and offered a repair package for watches to other brands. Such eminent brand, as Seiko Diver used the company's services.
During the development, the brand turned into the company that specialized in producing watches with Swiss movements. The company's production is widely used for the military purposes. The company itself bears the name of the grenade used during the Second World War. Models of Mk II watches personify the technical qualities being inherent in this gun of the wartime: reliability, durability and quality. Constant use of innovative introductions in production and traditional classical “no-frills” design have won good reputation due to watches for the company.
The company launches models of watches for career servicemen serving in severe field conditions.
The Milsub GMT model was designed for the US Army Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol /LRRP/. A prototype of the model was a watch for divers which was based on the concept of modularity and size increase. The case with a diameter of 49,50 mm was made of stainless steel. The model was designed on the basis of the self winding automatic movement ETA 2883-2. The rotor and the bridges were decorated in Cotes de Geneve style. The general movement was shock-resistant. The dial was covered with a double bulging sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating. Time indexes and hands were luminescent. The model was equipped with an additional hour hand and the helium valve. The double-sided rotating bezel was divided into 60 points. The model was water-resistant to 300 metres. The strap was made of genuine rubber. The additional stainless steel bracelet attached to the model.
Design of the OCN model for divers resembles the look of German military watches of the 1970s. Generally, the design is the same but only some parts are changed including a form of the case which is bigger for a better placement of the 120-click bezel. Instead of elastic plates, high-durable stainless steel pins are used. For easy use the crown is at the 4 o'clock position. The case of model in diameter of 48,90 mm is made of stainless steel. The model is designed on the basis of the self winding automatic movement ETA 2836-2 with a rhodium coating. The rotor and the bridges are decorated in Cotes de Geneve style.
