Leon Hatot is a well-known jewellery house, that has become famous due to its exclusive accessories and jewellery watches. Leon Hatot, the founder of the company, was born in 1883 in a small French town of Chatillon-sur-Seine. He studied at the watchmaking school. After studying he moved to Paris. Leon Hatot started his career with the purchasing of one of the leading jewellery brands - Bredillard brand, that was involved in the production of stylish jewellry and watches. He began to release his own products under this trade name. At the same time Leon Hatot created jewellery and different accessories for such famous houses of Paris as Louis Cartier, Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels. In 1920, he founded his own company, and 5 years later he was awarded a prestigious prize at the international exhibition of decorative art in Paris. At that time the appearance of Art Deco style was officially announced. The products, developed by Leon Hatot, was highly appreciated by the public due to their brilliant design and varying themes. Leon Hatot was known as “scientist-artist”, as he was always in the search for new technologies. One of Leon Hatot's inventions was the automatic Rolls watches. In 1928, he released a unique Ato-Radiaola watch, that could pick up aether waves. The other invention was the electric clock, decorated with precious stones. This clock was awarded different prestigious prizes. One of the awards was the Grand Prix at the Colonial Exhibition in 1931.
Till the end of his life (till 1953) Leon Hatot was continuing to create new amazing products, however his company was not developing so quickly as it was at the very beginning. After the master's death the company went out of existence. However, it's worth mentioning, that the artist left a rich heritage – a great number of drawings and sketches, that were keeping in the banks for many years. Only in 1999, Swatch Group noticed  Leon Hatot's heritage and the brand got the second wind.
