"There is nothing more powerful than an idea which time has come" - used to tell the U.S. president Abraham Lincoln. No doubt he also wanted to express the awareness that creative ideas are sometimes stick in our minds for a long time that they finally materialize. That's what the chief watchmaker Klaus Jakob from town of Lörrach may also had experienced, when in 1995 he began working on implementing of its long-held dream of his own watch brand.
A young entrepreneur could build on the family tradition. Exactly forty years ago, his old father, Horst Jakob,  created a small but well done studio in his home town, nearby the Swiss border. He devoted himself to the maintenance and repair of high-quality mechanical watches and movements. It was not an impossible task, whichJacques Etoile watch case could not overcome the expert. Even the apparently hopeless watcthes were awakened to the new life. Services offered by the master, covered the full spectrum: from the simple repair manual winding watches to complex chronographs. Not surprisingly, since childhood, Klaus Jakob was interested in horology, and he followed in the footsteps of his father. His passion was, above all, watch that work on a bygone era, gauges are more indulged into oblivion during rapid quartz revolution. Mechanical gauges deserved to be revived in a reasonable amount of pieces.
Since in our time requires sounding names, Klaus Jacob registered the trademark Jacques Etoile in October 1996. The new company  Jacques Etoile produces 1,000 watches per year. Our clients are citizens of Germany, Austria, France, Slovenia, Switzerland, Netherlands, USA, Hong Kong, as well as faraway Japan. All buyers Jacques Etoile watches have one thing in common - not getting just the serial model, they are ordering watches with an individual number, joining an elite public high watch fashion. From the outset, Klaus Jacob sells only those watchmodels that he had personally checked and finds a worthy example of his company.
