Issey Miyake Watches

Issey MiyakeIssey Miyake is considered the first Asian designer to achieve worldwide fame and renown. Being one of the most innovative designers, Issey Miyake experimented in creating new textile technologies for fabric textures with patterns, combining Western and Eastern cultures tracery. Issey Miyake was born in 1939 in Hiroshima, Japan. He was 7 years old, when an atomic bomb was dropped on the city, whereupon his family died of radiation and he gained problems with marrow. But he overcame the illness and started demonstrating interest in modeling since early childhood. After graduating from the prestigious Tama university in Tokyo, with a specialization in “graphic arts”, Issey Miyake went to Paris, where he soon became one of the haute couture “pillars”. The famous couturier's clothes were worn by the Duchess of Windsor and Audrey Hepburn. Having travelled all over Europe and Central America and having got tired of external glamour and soul emptiness, in 1970 Issey Miyake returned to Tokyo, where he founded “Miyake Design Studio”.
Along with numerous fashion clothes collections, Issey Miyake company produced a line of fragrances with unforgettable aromas and exclusive wrist watch models in 2010 and 2011. Every model's project was elaborated by a specific designer.
The famous Swiss watch craftsman, Yves Behar, presents concept of the “Vue” model creation: “This watch with a veiled dial destroys all traditional notions about this ancient instrument, measuring the unmeasurable. The unique approach to the model's designing is that just one hour index on the dial, executed with a Roman digit, is brightly lit. The rest 11 indexes kind of stay in the shadow”. The designer used high quality steel and a Swiss quartz movement in the model's elaboration.
A designer Ross LovegroveIssey Miyake presented the innovative “Hu” model to the sophisticated audience's judgement. “Hu” means “man”. The stainless steel case has the lineaments of a human body and the rubber strap, integrated into the case, finishes its design's integrity.
The “Go”, “Trapezoid” and “Twelve” models, executed in ultra-modern style by a contemporary Japanese designer, Naoto Fukasawa, lived up to the hopes of the lovers of everything fashionable and attractive. The Twelve model's inner part of the case has a dihexagonal shape, with the bevels acting as numeric indexes. The pearly-white dial is supplied only with the minute and hour hands of blue-black colour, coinciding with the case and the strap tone.
The Finnish watchmaker, Harri Koskinen, has designed the “Vakio” model with clear and simple lines, representing the concept of innovative design, based on the North European industrial design.
The eccentric Japanese designer, Shunji Yamanaka has designed the “Insetto” model in the form of an insect. The model's case, its crown and the hands are executed in the form of an insect's head, legs and horns. Even the smallest details fully reflect the imperceptible colour tones, used in the watch's designing.
You don't need a reason to buy an Issey Miyake company's watch. They are all so attractive and distinctive, that they'll occupy your attraction and become favourite and inherent accessories of your image.
