In 2009, Huguenot company, producing wrist watches was founded in the city of Biel, Switzerland. The design of the models is based on the well-known symbol, the Huguenot cross, created in 1688 by the skilled jeweller Maystre. The brand name is derived from the historical term "Huguenot", that appeared in Europe in 1520-1525. According to the researches, the word has come from the German “Eidgenossen”, that means "ally."
The religious wars that took place in the 16-17 centuries in Europe, caused the catastrophic devastation, that resulted in the massive migration of people from towns and villages.
