It was founded by Andreas Hentshel. Hentschel company has been specializing in the production of exclusive luxury mechanical watches for many years. Hentschel company is located in the German city of Hamburg, that by the 13th century has been already known as the city of trade and navigation. Hamburg is one of the most authoritative members of the Hanseatic League, the Union of the market cities, that has been established to ensure the security of trade in the sea and on land. Hentschel H1 is the first watch collection that consists of the elegant watches with thin golden or stainless steel cases of red or white colors. An unusual thin sapphire crystal also attracts everyone's attention. But in fact, the thickness of it is 4 mm, the same as in watches from other collections. The curved black or white dials have Arabic or Roman numerals. The collection includes models with automatic or manual winding. There is one feature that distinguishes Hentschel watches from other watches. It is a subdial with a second hand at “6:00”. This is the watch with manual winding. And in the automatic models the second hand is located in the center of the dial where there are hour and minute hands. The watches have a sapphire crystal exhibition back.
As opposed to Hentschel H1 watches, Hentschel H1-M collection consists of the models with large and thick cases. The cases are made of 18K white, rose or yellow gold. Black or white dials are protected by the domed sapphire crystal. The straps are made of leather of various colors. The water-resistance of the watches is 1.5 ATM. This collection also includes the models with automatic or manual winding.
Hentschel H2 is a collection of classic watches that look original with sportswear. For the cases the matchmakers used brushed stainless steel. Each watch of this collection has a special feature, that is the bright and clear dial with small indexes. The dials are covered with the 4 mm domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Exhibition watch back allows you to enjoy the work of the movement. The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5 bar). The collection includes models, both with automatic and manual winding.
Hentschel H1-M and Hentschel H2 watches are equipped with A. Schild AS1130 movement, that has quite a long history. In the early 30s, the watches of the German Army were equipped with AS1130 movement. And as the military watches were based on the AS1130 caliber, it was known as "Army Caliber." The task of the watchmakers was to develop one of the best movements. The fact, that all the parts of the movements were of a large size, and hence the movement was quite a big one, presented some difficulties. The large and durable movement had to be remade, but it must not have any influence on the accuracy and reliability of the watches. However, the watchmakers coped with this task, and thus the accuracy of the watches remained unchanged.
Watches of Hentschel H1 collection are equipped with Swiss ETA 900 movement.
