Hemess Watches

Carsten GelmannHemess is the German watch company, it produces Hemess manufactureelegant and high quality watches, that meet all the standards of the world watch industry. The first Hemess wrist watches were released in the 60s. These wathes are characterized by the curved dials, unusual thick glasses, that protect the watches from the external damage and from the water.
The company's workshop is located in the heart of the city of Glashütte (Germany). The factory, that produces glasses for the major watch brands is also situated here.
Hemess watches reflect the culture of Glashütte, and tell us its history. The whole process of watch designing and manufacturing has been taking place in that city since the company's founding up to the present.
Hemess watches are equipped with Japanese Miyota 8215 movements, improved and remade by the company's watchmakers. The movement operates on 21 jewels, with a frequency of 21,600 vph, it also has a rotor, «PITON mobile» control system and 40-hour power reserve. The watchmakers change the rotor, engrave the balance wheels and screws by hand. After the improvements, the company obtains a completely different movement, namely Hemess 82-15 movement.
The watch cases are made of polished stainless steel or gold-plated steel, the watch glass is sapphire crystal, the water resistance is up to 50 meters (5 bar). The domed dial with indexes is also of a great interest. The wrist watches with three large hands are decorated in the form of «BATON éventail».
Hemess company released Flieger watches, that are the original wrist watches for pilots. The cases of these models are made of matt stainless steel. The black dials are furnished with indexes and hands, covered with the luminescent substance. So, one can easily see the correct time even in the darkness. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. The water resistance is 5 ATM. The models are equipped with the Hemess movement, caliber 98. This is the Unitas 6498 movement with 17 jewels, operating with the frequency of 18,000 vph. The power reserve is 46 hours, the regulator is made in the form of the swan's neck. Having ovecame several  changes, the Unitas 6498 movement turned into the Hemess 98 movement. There is an engraved serial number on each watch back.
Hemess company also released an exclusive “EDC 1" chronograph, equipped with an improved Unitas 6498 movement. The movement's details are engraved by hand. The case and dial design reminds of the 50s and 60s watch designs.
Hemess watches are intended to be an irreplaceable accessory for people, who value the time, the high quality and who want to emphasize their bright personality.
