In 1989 Gianni Bulgari, a hereditary jeweler and a skilful watchmaker, founded a private company, called Enigma, and started producing unique watch models, designed by himself in a Swiss city of Neuchâtel.
First the company produced its pieces with GB brand, which were Gianni Bulgari's initials, but later it was renamed Enigma. Unlike other companies' watches', the brand's logo is engraved not on the dial, but on the back case. Nevertheless, the company's pieces are easily distinguished by their exquisite and unique design.
As an inquisitive and curious watchmaker, Gianni Bulgari has always been in search of interesting methods and technologies, used in different models. The first Enigma watch series was equipped with an innovative for the time “jumping hour” movement.
Since 1995 the watches' dials have been furnished with the company's logo. The same year the new brand's head office was opened in Geneva.
The next innovative development to surprise the proficient watch world was the Bezel Manual Winder mechanical watch model, which was wound up by manual bezel rotation.
In 2002 Gianni Bulgari returned to his roots and launched luxurious jewelry production. At the moment the company is a large exclusive jewelry and watch masterpieces manufacturer with a widely spread distributors' network and lots of brand shops, where you can buy Enigma watches or a fabulous diamond ring.
