Accurist Watches

In 1946 Asher and Rebecca Loftus founded Accurist company in London's Clerkenwell district. Despite the fact, that Accurist is a British company, the brand's watches are assembled of entirely Swiss components, combined with special style, which provided their highest quality from the very beginning. Thanks to these features, Accurist watches have occupied their honoured place in the watchmaking market since the brand's creation.
 Accurist became the first watch company to start equipping their watches with the complicated 21-jeweled “21 JEWEL” movement with a lever. This movement has become a special manifest of the brand and was later used by other watch brands. The company also had another advertising strategy. It didn't present its watches by videos, like many other brands did. Accurist company's watches were regularly presented at the “Sunday Night at the London Palladium” TV programme.
 Nevertheless, the fashionable and elegant Accurist watches soon appeared in the worldwide watch market. In the 60-s these beautiful watches adorned famous people's wrists. Accurist watches were worn by such celebrities, as Princess Ann, a model Twiggy, members of the world-famous “Beatles” band. In 1968 Accurist company's office was opened in Switzerland, in La Chaux-de-Fonds – the heart of the  Swiss watchmaking industry.
 In the 70-s, when quartz digital technologies had already been invented, Accurist company designed and produced a collection of watches, equipped with quartz movements and digital LCD-displays, that were chosen as the official Concorde plane watches.
 In 1983 Accurist company started to be governed by Andrew Loftus, who managed not only to preserve the brand's good reputation, created by his parents, but also to expand the company's production capacities from Switzerland to Japan and to increase the company's income by more than 500% after 2 years of curious research and innovative technologies implementation. The new watch collection, produced by the brand, gained success at the watch market and Accurist company became the official sponsor of the “British Telecom's Speaking Clock” for the first time in history.
 In 1987 Accurist brand was awarded the National Jewelers Association's prize in recognition of its contribution and impact on the Great Britain's watch market. Accurist company became the biggest and the most popular brand in Great Birtain as late as in 1993. The right choice of strategy let the company keep its reputation and the position at the world's watchmaking market, occupied since its creation. Moreover, it sponsored a lot of projects, connected with other companies. When The Royal Observatory in Greenwich was on maintenance, Accurist brand became the first company, not officially related to the observatory, to supply it with atomic clock, officially tracing time for all the world. Accurist company celebrated this occasion by the production of the “Greenwich Commemorative collection”, presented in more, than 20 countries, in 1995.
 In 1997 the company's headquarters was moved to London's West Hampstead district, where it is situated nowadays. The same year the brand was awarded the  “Volume watch brand of the year” prize in Great Britain and in 2001 – the “Customer Service Award”. In September, 2005 the brand's new department, distributing watches and jewelery of other brands, was opened in Great Britain.
 Nowadays Accurist is an independent watch company with a team of young and talented designers, creating small masterpieces, that have become an embodiment of rich longstanding history and specific aims.

This line has some models with the images of constellations on their dials. Their dark-blue dials resemble the night sky with all constellations displayed on it.
